He married twice. He married Matilda Mahood. Matilda was born September 27, 1824. He married Sally Ellen Cline. Sally was born in Sharon Springs, VA, US February 9, 1833. Sally died October 15, 1912 in Bluefield, WV, US, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred in Burkes Garden, VA, US.

John Rosenbalm and Matilda Mahood had the following children:

child 116 i. James Henry7 Rosenbaum was born in Burkes Garden, VA, US October 17, 1848. James died October 28, 1853 at 5 years of age.

child 117 ii. William Thomas Rosenbaum was born in Burkes Garden, VA, US February 11, 1850. William died May 18, 1913 in Washington, District, Columbia, US, at 63 years of age. He married Anna Marie Olson in NE, US, August 30, 1888. Anna was born in WI, US December 2, 1864.

child 118 iii. Joseph Alexander Rosenbaum was born in Burkes Garden, VA, US February 6, 1852. Joseph died August 4, 1853 at 1 years of age.

child + 119 iv. Robert Greever Rosenbaum was born September 12, 1854.

child 120 v. Stephen Edward Rosenbaum was born March 12, 1857.

child 121 vi. Charles Adam Rosenbaum was born November 20, 1859.
